The Sony Walkman WM 10, 20 and 30 series Walkmans were and still are one of the most popular Walkmans among collectors. The WM 10/20 started it all and came in a variety of colors. A very basic player with Dolby NR and "Normal/Cr02" tape selector. One of the smallest cassette players ever produced, almost the same size as a cassette case. These players needed to be extended to accept the cassette. An innovative design by Sony for sure.

The WM 30 was the follow up model and the biggest change was the design. Slighty larger, with a revised clear window and standing vertical now. Functions remained the same. Again, the WM 30's came in a variety of colors. The pink and green seem to be the hardest to come by.

Later models, the WM F10II, F20 and F30 all came with radio. The F30 series had the ability to tune into the local TV broadcast so you could listen to your favourite tv shows. The radio series were a little trickier to dis-assemble for repair due to the ribbon cable attached to the cassette door. It is easy to tear and damage.

WM 30 series

This series of Walkmans weren't the best sounding cassette players although that is sometimes disregarded due to it's small size. These are extremely easy cassette players to dis-assemble and repair.  If you are interested in purchasing one, search eBay or Yahoo Auctions. The WM 10 is quite popular in the US. The WM 30's and F30's on the other hand are quite rare to find.
